Overview

Job Title: HVAC Construction Engineer

Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset

Compensation: Attractive Salary + Benefits

Role Type: Full time / Permanent

The role is part of the MEH Alliance on the Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates main MEH, cabling and related support services to deliver complex cabling and pipework installations across the project.

The role

As an HVAC Construction Engineer, you will lead, manage and motivate the team, implement best practice, support continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and site license requirements. You will deliver HVAC Construction Workpacks to support the MEH Alliance programme and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, cultivating a compliant HS&E culture throughout the construction life cycle.

Day to day responsibilities include enabling systems and processes to support construction works and progress reporting, authorisation and permitting, safe access routing, surveying, and ensuring documentation is current and compliant with the latest works information and MEH documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Enable the use of the Procon system to support construction works and progress reporting for the MEH Alliance.
  • Coordinate the Work Authorisation and Permit systems operated by NNB.
  • Coordinate safe access routing to workfaces to support MEH Alliance construction works.
  • Coordinate topographical and other surveying required for MEH Alliance construction works.
  • Take ownership of documentation to enable construction works as per the level 4 plan (e.g., T-3 months accepted prior to works).
  • Ensure documents are compliant with latest works information and other MEH documentation.

This is a full-time role with 37 hours per week based at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset.

Essential experience
  • Experience working on major construction projects with a proven track record in a highly regulated sector and knowledge of Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including experience in Joint Ventures.
Qualifications
  • HNC qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience installing HVAC systems.
  • CCSNSG certificate or pass CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) test prior to starting.
