Paragon Scotland Limited, specialises in providing a full suite of management services tailored to meet the unique needs of the businesses we work with. Due to growth of the Company's we support, we are now looking to recruit a Payroll Assistant.

Responsibilities include:
  • Verify all employee data within the HR system to ensure accurate for payroll processing
  • Reconcile discrepancies and resolve errors prior to payroll submission
  • Maintain payroll schedules to ensure payroll cut off dates are consistently met
  • Ensure payroll submissions are sent for approval in line with agreed timelines
  • Review the payroll prior to submitting to external accountants
  • Monitor system notifications and updates to ensure continuous accuracy in pay calculations
  • Update pension contributions as required
  • Review payslips to ensure accuracy before releasing to employees
Support payroll reporting and compliance
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with statutory payroll requirements
  • Generate monthly payroll reports for payroll submissions to be sent to external accountants
  • Ensure all payroll documentation is securely stored and compliant with GDPR
  • Stay updated to changes in payroll legislation
Manage payroll queries efficiently
  • Respond promptly to employee payroll queries professionally
  • Investigate issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Communicate resolutions clearly to employees, escalating complex matters when required
  • Liaise with HR and Finance to ensure any payroll amendments are actioned correctly
Provide administrative support to HR
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding, ensuring payroll-related data is accurate and up to date
  • Collaborate with HR to maintain employee records, ensuring changes are reflected in payroll
  • Prepare letters relating to payroll adjustments as required
  • Contribute to HR and Payroll projects as required
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a payroll processing role
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of payroll, pensions and statutory deductions
  • Problem solving mindset
  • Strong experience of MS package including excel
