Job description
Overview

A secondary school in Manchester that works with students with social, emotional and mental health needs is looking for higher level teaching assistants to take on full-time roles. Within the school, you’ll work with KS3 and KS4 students who are outside of mainstream provisions due to various different needs, and these students require additional support to ensure they are progressing at a good rate.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver individualised and specially tailored educational support for students
  • Help to create an inclusive, positive and engaging learning environment alongside other staff within the school
  • Aid in development and delivery of lesson and learning plans
  • Track and feed back on student progress to teachers, parents and other relevant parties
  • Offer support to students both in and out of classes, helping with focus and de-escalation of challenging behaviour
Requirements
  • Have previous experience working in a secondary education setting, preferably in a PRU setting
  • Have a HLTA qualification or have experience leading classes in the absence of a teacher
  • Have experience with challenging behaviour and be confident in de-escalation and management of this
  • Be available full time and within school hours, no flexibility for part-time or reduced hours within this role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
