Job summary

A local governmental authority in Wales is seeking a Highways Inspector with extensive experience in highways maintenance. The ideal candidate will manage inspections, prepare work programmes, and interact with customers effectively. About the role:

Highway Operations require a Highways Inspector with good broad based experience of highways maintenance, knowledge of scheduling and programming highway works and repairs. Knowledge to determine appropriate repair solutions. Requests from customers. Produce daily, weekly and annual work programmes.

Skills: the applicant must be able to effectively communicate with people at all levels both verbally and with particularly good written skills. The applicant must be highly motivated and willing to assist with various activities during each day

What you will do:

• Undertake programmed and reactive highway inspections and surveys.
• Respond to reports, complaints and service requests.
• Prepare daily, weekly and annual work programmes.
• Investigate and respond to 3rd party claims.
• Take part in the Out of hours standby Rota supervising winter maintenance gritting and emergencies.
• Supervise Highway works.

There is no DBS Check requirement for this position.
