Job description
Overview

Reporting to the Group Manager (Parking Services) you will be part of a team that delivers an effective parking service for Glasgow.

You will assist in the design of major parking control schemes and minor parking restriction measures, the statutory Traffic Regulation Order process, management of works programmes, enforcement of existing on-road parking restrictions and bus priority measures, and the management and maintenance of the city's parking assets including parking zones and the provision of disabled parking spaces.

You must have the ability to produce reports, collate performance monitoring information, liaise with external contractors and other bodies, and meet project timescales within budget. You must also be able to provide technical advice, respond to correspondence from members of the public/elected members and attend site meetings/public exhibitions when necessary.

A minimum of an HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline, good communication skills, proficient IT skills and a current UK driving licence are essential. The ability to attend meetings outside standard office hours is also required.

It is also essential to be proficient in using 2D AutoCAD. Please note that if invited to interview, there will be an AutoCAD test lasting approximately 10 minutes which will form part of the interview scoring process.

The ability to use KEYLines and SignPlot software for the production of road marking / road signage plans is desirable.

Previous experience of a roads/traffic/road safety related environment, report writing, works planning, budgetary control and a knowledge and understanding of UK roads and traffic legislation is desirable.

This post offers Hybrid working whereby staff are required to attend the office a minimum of 60% over a 10 working day period.
