Overview
HomeServe are recruiting directly employed Gas Repair Engineers with a Plumbing background (level 2 qualified) to join our team. You will undertake an extensive training programme to settle into your career at HomeServe.
Training and onboarding
- Week 1: You will attend our Head Office in Walsall, Monday to Friday, covering HomeServe principles, health and safety, and receiving your tools and equipment.
- Week 2: You will be buddied with an experienced HomeServe Gas Repair Engineer.
- Where geographically appropriate, we will pay for your accommodation and meal allowance for your induction.
Responsibilities
- As a Multi-Skilled Engineer (Gas Repair and Plumbing), you will undertake maintenance and repair work of gas appliances and central heating systems in customers homes, and attend and complete emergency plumbing work when required.
- Provide industry-leading service and contribute to customer growth.
- Support an open, inclusive culture and help deliver a positive customer experience by putting customers first.
Location
Location – Sandbach, Coggleton, Kidsgrave, Biddulph.
Hours and pattern
Full-time role averaging 40 hours per week over the year (annualised hours). Some weekend, evening and bank holiday work required; pay remains the same across the year.
Salary and benefits
- Salary: £44,900 per annum plus a £1,500 guaranteed bonus in the first year.
- Seasonal hours (shorter in summer, same pay).

Requirements and qualifications
- CCN1, CENWAT1, HTR1 & CKR1 (copies of certificates to be provided if successful).
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Plumbing.
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Excellent customer service and a proactive, results-driven attitude.
- Keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills.
