Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer (Robotics / Automation Engineer) for a market leading business within the Automation Industry who provide support across a range of manufacturing clients within the Aerospace and Automotive sectors to help improve productivity. This is a permanent role created due to continued expansion. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within an Automation maintenance based role within a manufacturing environment. Experience with CNC machine tools, Beckhoff / Siemens PLCs and FANUC / Kuka / ABB Robotics would be highly advantageous.

This is a days-based role Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:30 with no-call out. All travel time is paid door to door and all additional hours are paid at premium rates. Realistic earnings up to £50k. The role will cover sites mainly in the Midlands / NW but also some across the UK, so a willingness to travel is required. This role would ideally suit a candidate with a maintenance background looking to develop and progress within the controls / automation industry.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to client sites across the UK and Ireland.
  • Support customer automation systems to aid in improving productivity.
  • Support the introduction of new projects on time and within budget constraints.
  • Fault finding and rectification of PLCs - Beckhoff / Siemens.
  • Experience working with robotics - ABB, Fanuc, Kuka or similar.
  • PLC software and hardware editing, operating and diagnostics.
  • Strong knowledge of IT – Windows Server.
  • Automation of existing plant & equipment, support equipment improvements and new equipment specification.
  • Provide support in installation of new capital equipment.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience working within a maintenance role within a high precision manufacturing environment.
  • Candidates must be time served in a suitable discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of PLCs (Beckhoff / Siemens advantageous).
  • Good working knowledge of Robotics (ABB / Fanuc / Kuka) – desirable.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Willing to travel as required to sites in the UK and Ireland.
