AR779 - Field Service Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £36,500 + Overtime + Company Van + Benefits

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs to a wide range of automated storage and retrieval systems. The role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong customer focus, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards and customer satisfaction is maintained at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Servicing, maintenance, and repair of automated storage and retrieval systems.
  • Diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions.
  • Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Maintaining accurate service records and completing relevant documentation.
  • Liaising with customers to understand their needs and provide professional advice.
  • Ensuring all health and safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Ordering and managing spare parts requirements.
  • Representing the company in a professional manner, acting as a brand ambassador at all times.
  • Supporting colleagues and providing assistance on larger installation and service projects where required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Level 3 Electrical Qualification (essential).
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background.
  • Previous experience with automated systems, material handling equipment, or similar machinery is highly desirable.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive and professional approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.
