Overview

We’re currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Escalator team at the Keighley factory. We’re seeking someone with strong mechanical engineering skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid commitment to safety and quality standards. This job is site based with no travel required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in escalator gearbox refurbishments
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs on gearboxes, including disassembly, inspection, reconditioning, and reassembly
  • Perform routine greasing and lubrication of gearbox components to ensure optimal performance and longevity
  • Work with technical documentation, schematics, and manufacturer specifications
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and KONE procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent
  • Collaborate with other engineers and site teams to ensure minimal downtime and efficient service delivery
Requirements
  • Apprentice trained Mechanical engineer or NVQ3 Mechanical Qualification
  • Strong knowledge of gearbox mechanics, lubrication systems, and drive components
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices
  • Good written and spoken English
  • NVQ3 in Escalators is a plus but not mandatory
