Overview

RPS is looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join our team based ideally in London or Newark. Our award-winning team provides a range of assessments (Energy Reports, Overheating Assessments, Daylight Analysis, BREEAM Assessments, Sustainability Statements, LCA etc) to a multitude of clients, supplying valuable services to lead design teams and clients through the complexities of the planning process.

What you'll be doing

You will be working with a well-established and passionate team of highly knowledgeable environmental consultants, giving you the opportunity to develop your skill set and progress your career. You'll be trained in providing support and assistance across a range of projects and technical areas including: research, site visits, appraisals and report writing. Where appropriate, you'll get to take responsibility to work on individual tasks and projects. With climate change impacting us all and Net Zero Carbon initiatives commencing across the UK, you can be part of making a difference and solving problems that matter.

Responsibilities
  • We'd like you to have a degree (BSc / BEng) in a relevant subject (e.g. Environmental Science/Engineering, Climate Change, Engineering, Architecture) preferably with relevant Masters (MSc/MEng) or post graduate qualification.
  • A good understanding of BREEAM assessments and the BREEAM process (Design and Post Construction stages) and experience of working through several BREEAM assessments. Experience of how the BREEAM process works and what the BRE require is essential.
  • BREEAM certified in at least one of the BRE schemes (BREEAM-In-Use, New Construction, Refurbishment and Fit Out, International) and a BREEAM AP certification would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience of experience working on BREEAM assessments.
  • Experience in undertaking Whole Life Carbon Assessments using OneClick LCA Software.
  • Strong communication skills are essential as you'll need to be able to build strong working relationships with your colleagues, clients and external bodies.
