A respected engineering recruitment firm is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer for projects in Central London, offering £350-£400 per day. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of management experience and a background in delivering major fit out projects. Responsibilities include overseeing project specifications and managing subcontractors, ensuring efficient procurement, and coordinating site activities.

Overview

Client: Working throughout several sectors including commercial, residential, education, and data centres, the business has seen significant growth in the last 5 years. With a traditional engineering mindset and reinvestment into new principals, the business expects 2025 to be a similar period of growth. After a successful year despite the circumstances, they are now looking to increase turnover to £220M and are expanding their operations team. The client is family owned and run, with well over 80% of their clients using them on multiple occasions because of the nature of the business.

Role

Electrical Project Engineer - Central London - £350-£400 per day CIS

Responsibilities

• Read, understand and scrutinise Specifications


• Assist with management of design stage


• Procurement of sub-contractors, kit and plant


• Investigate Value Engineering


• Assist with preparation of Contract Documents i.e. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, RFIs, etc.


• Coordination and management of direct labour


• Instruct and coordinate site managers


• Progress reporting


• Overseeing commissioning and testing


• Working with Quantity Surveyor on Commercial Accounts


• Preparation of OMs for final project handover

Qualifications

• Experience delivering major fit out projects


• Experience managing projects to a minimum of £5m Electrical value


• A minimum 5 years' experience in a management role


• Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Multiplex, Mace, Lendlease and Kier


• Must be technically astute and a good people manager
