Overview

COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLEThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer who can demonstrate strong competency in the use of Solidworks, and qualified to BEng, HND/C or similar level in an engineering or Product / Industrial Design discipline.You’ll have the opportunity to develop within an established, highly successful and growing independently branded company, and part of Global organisation, (employing staff on both sides of the Atlantic).Working within a highly professional engineering team, you’ll play a key part in developing products from concept through to manufacture as well as playing an active role in products and process improvement projects.

Responsibilities
  • Product design and development for new and existing product manufacturing.
  • Involvement in research and development linked to prototype builds and testing.
  • Identification, consideration, and implementation of product improvement projects.
  • Creating production ready data including engineering drawings, bills of materials and 3D CAD models.
  • Liaise with suppliers through the complete product development process.
  • Understanding and implementation of relevant product approvals.
  • Technical support for customers, suppliers and development partners as required.
  • Adherence to internal quality management systems.
  • Involvement in the management of product development projects
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Attributes
  • Ideally qualified to BEng, HND/C or similar level in an engineering or Product / Industrial Design discipline, although other relevant qualifications and experience will also be considered.
  • Proven experience working within a design / manufacturing environment.
  • Appreciation and application of design strategy.
  • Proactive desire to drive and manage product development projects.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to respond and react within a dynamic development environment.
  • Sound understanding of material selection, production, and manufacturing processes.
  • Good 3D CAD skills (preferably within Solidworks) and knowledge of good engineering practice.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and/or compressor design would be advantageous
  • Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a desire to get things right first time.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate with internal and external stake holders at all levels.
Details of Package
  • Salary from £40,000 to £50,000 (Depending on experience) + PR Bonus (Up to 8%) + Flexible working around start and finish times (details negotiable) + Benefits (39 Hour week) 07:30 – 16:00 Mon – Thurs / 07:00 – 14:00 Fri
