Job summary

A children's care service provider is looking for a Deputy Manager to lead a team in a 2 Bed, EBD Children's Home. This role involves overseeing support for children aged 7 to 17 with Mild Learning Difficulties and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. The position offers a competitive salary of £37,800 per annum, comprehensive induction, and fully funded training pathways. Candidates must have a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce, experience in residential childcare, and the commitment to providing excellent care.

Qualifications

  • Previous role as a Deputy or Assistant Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker in the Residential Child Care sector.
  • Full, valid, UK driving licence for manual vehicles.
  • Understanding of safeguarding children and legislation relating to residential childcare.

2 Bed, EBD Children's Home, Ofsted Regulated.

Where you will be based:

Cramlington, North East

The Service Users:

Children aged 7 to 17 with Mild Learning Difficulties and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

Working Week and Pay:
  • Hours: 48 hours per week, 4 shifts of 12 hours each on a rolling rota, days only. Note that the Deputy Manager is responsible for the staff rota including their own shifts.
  • Salary: £37,800 per annum

  • Growth Plans: Expanding their services to support more children and young people both with Children EBD and LD Residential and Care leaver services.

What you will need / None-Negotiables:
  • Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent
  • Experience: Previous role as a Deputy or Assistant Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker in the Residential Child Care sector
  • Driving Licence: A full, valid, UK driving licence for manual vehicles
  • Fluent in English: Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Other Skills: IT proficient and the desire to learn new skills
  • Understanding of: Safeguarding children, legislation relating to residential childcare, and confidence in supervising care teams
