A government defense agency is seeking a Lead Inspector to oversee the regulation of nuclear security at key sites. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, preparing reports, and maintaining relationships with other regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate should have experience in nuclear regulation and strong communication skills.
The Defence Nuclear Security Regulator (DefNucSyR) is recruiting a new Lead inspector who will focus on the regulation of British Aerospace Engineering Submarines (BAE Subs) at Barrow in Furness and Rosyth Royal Dockyard Limited (RRDL), both of which support are key sites within the DNE. You will undertake regulatory inspections, assess security planning, and provide security exercise assessments, as well as supporting security investigations as required, and making recommendations on nuclear security improvements. As a Lead Inspector, you will directly contribute to providing confidence to the Permanent Secretary of the security of the UK’s Defence Nuclear Enterprise (DNE).
All DefNucSyR inspectors are supported through a comprehensive and individually tailored learning and development plan designed to build their expertise across nuclear, security and regulatory disciplines. Following this there will be a requirement to pass a Duly Authorised Person (Security) (DAP (Sy) board in order to receive delegated authority to perform your duties within Nuclear Security Regulation.
