Overview

Company Accountant (Lisburn)

VANRATH are delighted to be working in partnership with a growing business based near Lisburn to recruit a commercially astute hands on Finance Manager to take on a key role within the organisation. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer the role will be broad in nature and be responsible for the management of a small finance team.

What you'll do
  • Lead and develop the finance team.
  • Take hands-on responsibility for payroll, invoicing, credit control, supplier payments, purchasing, and VAT reporting.
  • Maintain purchase, sales, and nominal ledgers in Sage Intaact.
  • Manage month-end close and prepare accurate management accounts and financial reports.
  • Liaise with auditors, insurers, and external advisors, ensuring compliance and timely reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.
  • Contribute to business growth and strategic financial decisions.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to finance systems and processes.
  • Act as the senior finance point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
About you
  • Either a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) OR a minimum of 5 years' relevant finance experience.
  • Proven experience in a finance role with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong technical finance knowledge, including month-end close, reporting, and VAT.
  • Hands-on approach, comfortable performing operational tasks alongside managing a team.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient with finance systems, specifically Sage Intaact or related Sage applications, and MS Excel
