A recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a utilities company in Cambridgeshire. In this role, you will oversee various utility projects, focusing on financial reporting and compliance with NEC contracts. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of QS experience in civil engineering or utility contracts, along with professional qualifications in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying. This position offers a salary up to £70K depending on experience.

Overview

COMMERCIAL MANAGER
CAMBRIDGESHIRE
SALARY UP TO £70K DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

Our client has over 30 years of expertise, providing comprehensive gas, electricity, and water solutions to both domestic and commercial sectors. They are now looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the General Manager, you will have commercial responsibility over a range of utility capital work projects under NEC form of contract.
  • Reviewing CVR's and margin analysis for projects for financial reporting.
  • Ensuring that commercial and administrative systems, budgets and cost control procedures are utilised.
  • Produce cash-flow forecasts and keep updated and report on variances.
  • Ensuring that contractual procedures are applied for, maintaining compliance with the company policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing project applications and forecasts on a regular basis regarding monitoring actual performance against budget; providing updates and action plans.
  • Regularly review the supply chain, ensuring best value, including negotiation and award of subcontracts.
  • Ensure business targets and KPI's are exceeded and that problems are identified and resolved at an early stage.
  • Ensuring that accurate commercial records are kept.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a QS on Civil Engineering or Utility contracts.
  • Professionally qualified in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying.
  • Good knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
