Job summary

A leading logistics provider in the UK is seeking a delivery and collection driver to handle collections and deliveries to medical facilities and pharmacies. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of driving experience, hold a Class 2 C Category driving licence, and demonstrate excellent organisational and customer service skills. Qualifications

Job description

As a delivery and collection driver, you'll make collections and deliveries to GP surgeries, retail pharmacies, wholesalers and hospitals. You will also be required to make deliveries to patients and, on occasion, assist them with the rotation and return of stock items. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate excellent customer service.

You will work a minimum of 40 hours per week and must be flexible to work additional hours as needed, especially for urgent medical nature services. You may work on average 40-48 hours per week. Movement may be required on weekdays and early start at 06:00.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the scanning of packages or pallets to your delivery vehicle when applicable.
  • Ensuring the safe and secure loading of all consignments to your vehicle using the appropriate equipment.
  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of deliveries using the appropriate equipment.
  • Ensuring the vehicle is always kept at the correct temperature.
  • Conducting vehicle safety checks as outlined in documentation, including the refrigeration unit.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of both cab and chambers.
  • Reporting all defects as per the defect reporting process.
  • Adhering to all legislation governing HGV driving in the UK & Ireland.
  • Ensuring the driver's card is downloaded upon completion of each shift.
  • Always demonstrating a professional and safe driving competency.
  • Maintaining a smart and presentable appearance.
  • Communicating all operational delays or delivery/failure incidents to the line manager promptly.
  • Completing EPOD, driver manifest, collection, and refusal paperwork accurately.
  • Driving according to your planned schedule.
  • Performing additional tasks requested by the Line Manager that suit your skills and responsibilities as a Class 2 driver.

Working Hours & Schedule

Hours: 40-48 hours per week with Monday-to-Friday start time at 06:00. Flexibility to work additional hours as required.
