Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential to Go Permanent | Term-Time Only

About the Role

As a Child Care Assistant, you will join a dedicated team at a specialist SEMH provision in Robertsbridge, East Sussex. This full-time, term-time only role offers an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of young people aged 5-11 who require specialist support due to needs including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, SpLD (Specific Learning Difficulties), and complex behavioural challenges. For the right candidate, there is a strong possibility for the role to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing day-to-day support to students with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and related needs
  • Assisting with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in activities
  • Supporting students with personal care and routine tasks when necessary
  • Working alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff to follow individual care and education plans
  • Encouraging positive social interaction and emotional development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience in care, support work, or as a healthcare assistant (preferred but not essential)
  • A genuine interest in working with children with SEMH and additional needs
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to build strong, positive relationships
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student well-being
