Job summary

A creative animation studio is seeking a talented Character Lookdev Artist to work remotely on their production. The role involves shading and texturing stylised 3D characters and ensuring quality standards from the original film are met. Candidates must have at least two years of production experience and proficiency in Adobe Substance 3D and Maya. This fully remote position accepts applicants based in the UK or EU, with a strong preference for UK-based candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years production experience required.
• Experience with Yeti is a plus.
• Understanding of CGI lighting and compositing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Shade and texture stylised 3D human and animal characters.
• Ensure quality standards of the original film are met.
• Collaborate with the groom team for high quality assets.
• Quality control on character asset publishing.

Red Star are looking for talented CHARACTER LOOKDEV ARTISTS to work remotely on our production of THE AMAZING MAURICE 2. Candidates must be based in the UK or in the EU.

The job

• Shading and texturing of stylised 3D human and animal characters from concept art
• Retaining the quality and aesthetic standard of the original THE AMAZING MAURICE film
• Working closely with the groom team to deliver high quality assets
• Quality control on publishing of character assets

Must have

• Experience using Adobe Substance 3D / Substance Painter
• Experience with Maya & Arnold
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Strong communication skills
• Two years production experience (minimum)

Nice to have

• Experience with Yeti
• Understanding of CGI lighting and compositing
• Feature film experience

• Whilst this is a fully remote position due to the way this project is funded candidates MUST be physically based in the UK or EU to be eligible and a strong preference will be given to UK-based candidates.
