Job description
CDM Health and Safety Consultant

We are seeking a CDM Health and Safety Consultant to join a well-established, national Construction Health, Safety, and CDM Consultancy. You will be part of an experienced and growing team, delivering the Principal Designer role, providing CDM advice to clients, and construction safety guidance to contractors on various challenging projects, mainly across the South East region.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Engaging early with stakeholders.
  2. Providing briefings on best practices.
  3. Ensuring safety management procedures are followed, including adherence to client health and safety management protocols (e.g., asbestos), best practices, and safety regulations.
  4. Reviewing and approving RAMS.
  5. Advising on the health and safety competence of the supply chain.
  6. Conducting site inspections and audits to monitor construction projects.
  7. Reviewing and delivering inductions.
  8. Handling day-to-day health and safety matters related to contractors, interfaces, permits, etc.
  9. Representing clients at health and safety meetings.
  10. Providing ongoing health and safety advice, support, guidance, and mentoring to clients.
  11. Delivering CDM/health and safety briefings and training to clients and key project members as required.
  12. Reporting on health and safety performance and monitoring.

Experience: The role is open to candidates at Consultant or Senior Consultant level, depending on experience. There is a progression plan for promotion, salary increases, and expanded responsibilities. Previous construction experience and relevant qualifications are advantageous.

Qualifications: Candidates should hold or be working towards CMaPS and/or CMIOSH certification. A strong knowledge of CDM is essential.

The company offers a salary range of £55,000 - £65,000, plus car allowance, pension, and healthcare benefits.
