Job description

Overview

The main aim of the job is to provide the best possible service and experience for patients, visitors and staff using the Staff Restaurant, whilst maintaining a high standard of Food Safety and Cleanliness. The dining room is busy, and the successful candidate must be able to work under pressure and at speed. Part of the job requires preparing salads and sandwiches for lunch, therefore a knowledge of catering is required.

Responsibilities

• Record food and fridge temperatures, accurately and clearly.
• Work on the service counter using good customer service and communication skills to engage with customers.
• Use engagement to drive sales.
• Deal with all phone enquiries to the Staff Restaurant, take orders and pass on any enquiries they cannot deal with to the Restaurant supervisor, Head Chef or Catering Manager.
• Relay information back to the kitchen regarding orders placed or stock needed.
• Take cash and card payments from customers, balance the till at the end of service, recording all information accurately.
• Work very closely with other members of the small team, and contribute to delivering the best possible service.
