We have a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Care and Support mental health team in Stevenage. You will support residents with enduring mental health issues, which can be challenging but rewarding.
This role involves early or late shifts, including some weekends and bank holidays.
As a key worker, you will be responsible for your customers’ support plans and promoting their independence. The residents may have complex mental health issues, often linked to drug-induced psychosis, with unpredictable behaviors. Your role is to provide positive support to help them maintain independence and remain active in the community. The goal is for residents to return to independent living.
You should be a team player with enthusiasm for your role. Strong communication skills, a flexible approach, and a positive attitude are essential to achieve targets in a challenging environment. Empathy, understanding, and patience are crucial, making this a rewarding role for the right candidate.
You may need to make decisions regarding safeguarding and risk issues daily, so confidence and decisiveness are important. You will have support from a dedicated management team and will be the key worker for your assigned residents, maintaining detailed records and liaising with third parties involved in support packages. Good IT skills are essential.

We will conduct an enhanced background check through the Disclosure and Barring Service, including the Adult Barred list, once an employment offer is made. This check will be repeated every three years.
