Bridging Finance

London - HYBRID

We are currently working with a fast-growing lender that is looking for a Senior Bridging Underwriter to join their friendly, multi-award-winning team.

The Sales and Underwriting teams are expanding to ensure the business can grow and continue to deliver exceptional service.

Your main responsibility will be to work within the Underwriting team to ensure effective risk management and seamless drawdown of funds to borrowers.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the underwriting team to ensure delivery of business objectives efficiently, including coaching, feedback, setting objectives and targets, and driving efficiency and consistency across the team.
• Develop and implement underwriting processes.
• Ensure all underwriting is completed competently and in compliance with company policies.
• Ensure all underwriting decisions align with the company’s credit risk appetite.
• Review and assess each case to ensure risks are appropriately evaluated and mitigated where necessary.
• Evaluate the commercial viability of each application.
• Oversee underwriting of all loans up to disbursement.
• Delegate applications for underwriting appropriately and proportionately.
• Review applications, including credit reports, wealth assessment, valuation, insurance, and ROT.
• Perform final checks of checklists, rationales, and AML forms.
• Support automation initiatives and scaling efforts.
• Be responsible for final credit sign-off for each application.
• Assist with internal and external projects related to the business as needed.
• Demonstrate analytical and methodical thinking.
• Take ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
• Manage tasks successfully to deliver high-quality service.
• Previous underwriting experience in Financial Services, ideally within bridging finance.
