Hybrid – Home & Manchester office

On offer is the opportunity to join a UK-based international law firm providing a range of legal services in both the private and public sectors. Enjoy working in a close-knit, collaborative team as a Bid Manager reporting to a Head of Bids who focuses on strategic bidding rather than scattergun approaches. The business has a strong presence across the UK, Europe, and Asia, with over 200 years of history and ongoing influence in the legal sector.

The Bid Manager will oversee the full bid lifecycle, typically managing one or two bids at a time from conception to submission. This role offers stability, flexibility, and a supportive team environment.

Key Duties:
  1. Project managing tenders from initial assessment, including bid/no bid qualification, through to drafting, submission, preparing teams for presentations, and post-submission feedback and reporting across both private & public sectors.
  2. Identifying winning themes that demonstrate understanding of client requirements and differentiate our offerings from competitors.
  3. Generating high-standard, compelling, clear, and compliant written responses and marketing materials.
  4. Developing and maintaining a library of precedent texts for tenders, capturing all relevant deal/transaction information for future bids.
  5. Managing internal stakeholders throughout the tender process.
  6. Researching procurement cycles and engaging with procurement professionals within key target and client organizations to contribute to the firm’s sales pipeline.
  7. Providing input during lessons learned from previous submissions.
Experience Required:
  • Bid Manager / Bid Writer experience.
  • Ideally a background in Legal or other Professional Services sectors.
  • Ability to manage the entire bid process collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to Manchester up to 2-3 days a week, with occasional site visits.
