gap construction are delighted to be supporting a well-established, family-owned builder with almost a century of proud history, in their search for a skilled Bench Joiner to join their exceptional in-house team. The successful candidate will become part of a friendly, close-knit team based in the heart of Hertfordshire.

Performance Objectives

1. CAD Interpretation: Confidently read and understand 2D and 3D CAD drawings to interpret specifications and client requirements.
2. Document Comprehension: Read and follow manufacturing documents such as cutting lists and factory orders.
3. Assembly Communication: Receive clear assembly instructions from the Assembly Team Leader, including critical details and preferred manufacturing approaches.
4. Issue Reporting: Highlight and report any issues identified during the assembly process to the Team Leader.
5. Tool Usage: Operate hand tools such as trimmers and manual tools including chisels.
6. Material Knowledge: Work with a variety of materials including MFC, MFMDF, sprayed elements, veneered elements, and solid wood.
7. Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets the company's high-quality standards.
8. PPE Compliance: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Person Specification

1. Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in the woodworking industry.
2. Tools: Must have own joinery tools.
3. Joinery Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic joinery assembly practices and timber material specifications.
4. Factory Experience: Previous experience in a factory or workshop environment is advantageous.
