Job description

Overview

Design, develop & maintain the frameworks and automation environments.

The team collaborates with testers to ensure their scripts run and results integrate with dashboards. The role participates in agile ceremonies and knowledge sharing sessions with the team, partners, and clients. CGI's Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit focuses on delivering contemporary, innovative technical solutions for government agencies. The role is for an experienced Automation Framework Engineer to guide, assure and deliver integrated solutions in partnership with our clients. The position is suitable for some office or home-based work but requires onsite attendance in Gloucester due to secure systems access. Hands-on experience deploying virtualised workloads with L3/L4 networking is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with testers to ensure their scripts run and results integrate with dashboards.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including team meetings, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Participate in knowledge sharing sessions involving the team, our partners and our clients.

Qualifications

• Skilled in configuration and automation tools such as Robot Framework, Go, vCentre Networks.
• Experience of RedHat or CentOS Linux (System Admin and Bash) and/or Windows (System Admin and PowerShell).
• Use of tooling such as Jenkins, InfluxDB and Grafana.
• Experience of containerisation and orchestration technologies e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Experience of infrastructure engineering on Cloud platforms and technologies e.g. AWS Cloud Practitioner.
• Understanding of software and infrastructure testing.
• Understanding of test management tools, e.g. TestRail and/or X-Ray.
• Creation and configuration of reporting dashboards with Splunk and/or ELK stack.

Our roles are available to UK nationals who hold UK security clearance or are willing to obtain it. Any individual without security clearance will be considered for CGI opportunities where appropriate. The position requires onsite attendance in Gloucester due to secure access requirements.
