Assistant Workshop Supervisor

One of Carbon60's exciting, market-leading clients is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Workshop Supervisor with an established mechanical background to support their dynamic testing and assembly operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Role

As an Assistant Workshop Supervisor, you'll play a key role in supporting the Test Supervisor with daily operations, ensuring that all testing and assembly activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You\'ll help coordinate workloads, maintain compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working alongside the Test Supervisor managing daily workloads.
  • Monitor project timelines and report progress or issues.
  • Support the completion and tracking of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Projects, Inspection, and QESH teams.
  • Ensure safety procedures and risk assessments are up-to-date and followed.
  • Provide technical support and help resolve test/assembly issues.
  • Promote lean practices including 5S, Right First Time (RFT), and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure staff training, PPE compliance, and safety standards are maintained.
  • Encourage environmentally responsible practices and efficient resource use.
What You\'ll Need to Succeed
  • Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong industry experience in mechanical assembly, fitting and testing - including laser alignment
  • Solid understanding of safety standards and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
  • High attention to detail and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Competence in using computers for documentation and monitoring.
