My client is a manufacturing business based in Greater Manchester, seeking a strong-willed and business-minded professional to work within their accounts function.

They are looking for someone with solid accounting experience, either partly through AAT or Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA, and must have their own car and be able to drive.

Core responsibilities:

• Assist the Finance Manager in producing statutory and monthly management accounts, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Provide analysis and reporting to control costs and support improvements.
• Prepare and post monthly accounting journals and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Provide management with financial information for cost control, investigate variances, and offer recommendations.

Person Specification

• Minimum AAT qualification or equivalent, studying towards professional qualifications.
• At least two years of experience in a similar role or in an audit position.
• Mature personality, able to work independently and flexibly as part of a team.

Travel to other sites and remote work may be required, so access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license is essential. The company offers excellent study support, including days off for study/revision during quieter periods.
