Overview

AI Technician – Cattle Genetics / Artificial Insemination Technician – Dairy Genetics – Somerset. Basic Salary to £38,000 + Vehicle + Enhanced Benefits Package.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide on-farm artificial insemination (AI) services to dairy and beef producers, focusing on reproductive performance and genetic advancement.
• Collaborate with farmers and internal technical teams to deliver high-quality breeding outcomes.
• Offer guidance on herd reproduction planning and genetic decision-making.
• Work hands-on with industry-leading cattle genetics and contribute to herd improvement across your assigned region.

Candidate

• Proven experience in artificial insemination of cattle (AI Certification preferred).
• Strong understanding of bovine reproduction, heat detection, and breeding cycles.
• Comfortable working independently on-farm and engaging directly with producers.
• Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
• Passion for livestock genetics and herd improvement.
• Full UK (or equivalent) driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
• Experience with genomic selection, EBVs, or herd management software is advantageous but not essential.
