A well-established electrical distributor is seeking an Area Sales Account Manager to cover South London and the South West. The role involves managing client relationships, reporting to the Managing Director, and promoting products to generate new business. Overview

Job Description: We are excited to be working with a well-established electrical distributor who have a fantastic permanent full-time opportunity for an Area Sales Account Manager to join their team and cover South London and the South West area of the UK.

Role and Responsibilities
  • You will be directly reporting to the Managing Director on a weekly basis to discuss your activities
  • Weekly reports to be submitted to the Managing Director to show your sales activities for the week
  • Promote company image and product brand into the UK Market
  • Prospecting and developing new business with warm & cold calls alongside marketing
  • Develop new leads and utilise the company system to track activity and new contacts
  • Daily contact via phone and email with existing and potential customers to quote business and pro-actively promote the company's product
  • Manage customers' expectations by being their main point of contact
  • Work in conjunction with the other sales reps to grow business
  • Evaluate customer needs to determine appropriate products or alternatives to meet job or project requirements
  • Account management of clients, to be in regular contact with your own client base and to be able to handle any direct customer complaints
  • Maintain ongoing rapport with your own client base, including ensuring that all information for your clients is accurate and can be fed back to our Business Administrators.
  • Providing quotation to customers
  • Regularly visit customers in specific marketplaces to solidify relationships and/or develop new business
  • Undertaking overnight stays to ensure current clients and new businesses are visited
  • Driving results through strategic planning ensuring a high standard of Customer Care, service and after-sales support
  • Strictly implement all company rules and regulations
Skills and Experience
  • Be self-motivated and to have the ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Have a proven track in sales in the Electrical Industry (desirable)
  • Experience working in the Electrical industry
  • A minimum of 3 years solid experience of being a Sales Representative and able to demonstrate where you have exceeded targets
  • A minimum of 3 years solid experience within a Business Development role (desirable)
  • Experience working within project development (desirable)
  • Experience within Account Management
  • Experience in Sales and Marketing
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines
  • Be patient and tactful with customers when negotiating
  • Ability to deliver up-to-date market information such as competitor pricing, product development trends and changes to regulations
  • Have exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Packages (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
Salary

£30,000.00-£40,000.00 DOE

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm (flexibility required with travelling/commute times)
