Aquatic Ecologist – Glasgow

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE

You’ll support the delivery of freshwater, estuarine, and coastal projects - combining fieldwork, technical reporting, and project coordination. Expect variety, autonomy, and the chance to grow within a collaborative, purpose-driven team.

What You’ll Do
  • Carry out aquatic field surveys: macroinvertebrates, macrophytes, fish (electrofishing, netting, translocations)
  • Conduct water quality, hydrology, and habitat assessments
  • Prepare technical reports and impact assessments (WFD, HRA, EcIA)
  • Support project delivery: budgets, timelines, and client liaison
  • Contribute to restoration, R&D, and wider research initiatives
  • Mentor junior ecologists and technicians
