A local government library service in Lancashire is seeking an Apprentice Library Assistant. As an Apprentice Library Assistant, you\'ll support the delivery of a high-quality library and information service. This includes:
A Library Apprentice to work at Burnley Library. This is a temporary 2-year role, working an average of 37 hours per week. This will include some evenings and weekends, over a two-week rota (see attached rota at the bottom of the advert).
Our ideal person will be welcoming and friendly, have a love for reading and be passionate about sharing this. You will have excellent communication and digital skills, be able to work with a range of stakeholders and be able to deliver a customer focused service.
As an apprentice, you will work with a team in offering a high-quality library and information service and you will support the planning and the delivery of a diverse range of events and activities. You will support and encourage customers to access online information and resources, for example accessing free eBooks and newspaper apps or helping someone find reliable information, such as applying for a passport.
Apprentices will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about the Library Service and receive appropriate training and support to assist in the provision of an efficient and effective library service. You will work towards gaining the work-based in Library, information and archive services assistant / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education in a timely manner.
Sometimes, you will need to work at other locations, and the role may involve some lone working.
