Job Overview

Join us as an Actuarial Analyst within the UK Actuarial Portfolio Analytics team to take your career to the next level with an international market leader.

Our Actuaries are on the front lines quantifying risk pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG's major insurance operating companies globally. We collaborate with Underwriting Finance Claims Operations Marketing and Risk Management among other functions. As an AIG actuary you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict manage and mitigate risk.

Impact

You will be responsible for supporting the UK profit centre providing granular performance monitoring and supporting the portfolio optimisation process as well as involvement on a number of other UK & International related workstreams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing the business with the actuarial support they require to profitably grow their business and take remedial action where needed.
  • Supporting the development alignment and execution of portfolio strategies.
  • Contribute to the Monthly and Quarterly Business Review process and other key senior Management Information requests.
  • Work with other actuarial teams to help coordinate the international actuarial loss ratio planning process including helping to ensuring Loss Ratio Walks contain the required metrics.
  • Support the review of budget UK loss ratios and any ad hoc analyses including IO / PO Budget process.
  • Helping with ad hoc actuarial analyses and requests as required.
  • Support the Actuarial relationship external auditors and independent reserve reviewers.
  • Compliance with key regulatory and risk management procedures.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or related discipline.
  • Willing to pursue membership in a recognised actuarial society.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn.
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Coding experience in SQL or other programming languages desirable.
