Job Description :
We are looking for a Geoscience Product Owner to join the Group IT Department. Reporting to the Head of the Geology and Mining Services IT Product Line, you will play a key role in managing the Groups geoscientific applications. Working in close collaboration with both IT teams and business experts, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and continuous improvement of the solutions under your scope.
You will oversee the operational management and functional administration of an international portfolio of applications, ensuring their alignment with user needs and the Groups IT strategy. You will also contribute actively to the ongoing optimization of the Groups information systems in a dynamic and fast-evolving environment.
This position is based either in Paris 15 or Clermont-Ferrand and involves international travel.
Responsibilities :
- Define and prioritize the roadmap for Geoscience IT applications in alignment with business needs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the Geoscience teams on all IT-related topics.
- Monitor technological developments and emerging solutions relevant to the domain.
- Plan and manage the annual budget for projects and maintenance (Run) activities.
- Gather business requirements, define project scopes, and conduct feasibility studies.
- Launch and manage calls for tenders in coordination with the Procurement teams.
- Coordinate project execution, lead steering committees, and ensure timelines, budgets, and objectives are met.
- Oversee solution deployment and manage user acceptance testing in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Produce key project deliverables at each phase (studies, specifications, implementation reports).
- Manage the full application lifecycle and provide IT support in collaboration with technical teams.
- Lead change management initiatives to ensure successful user adoption of new solutions.
- Foster and animate the user community through training sessions, feedback sharing, and best practices.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, including contract follow-up, order management, and performance monitoring.
Your profile :
- Graduate of an engineering school or holder of a masters degree in geology or computer science, with significant experience in geoscience, resource estimation, or mine planning.
- Knowledge of industry-standard tools such as Leapfrog, Surpac, MinePlan, Isatis.neo, FEFLOW, etc.
- Experience in IT project management (V-model or Agile methodologies).
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
