The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a highly skilled, results-oriented Logistics Specialist, based in Nairobi, Kenya.

About the role

The selected candidate will be part of the Logistics team, reporting to the Logistics Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support global logistics operations, ensuring effective service delivery following standard processes.
• Build strong relationships with global partners and senior managers to align functional objectives.
• Assist in drafting tender documents, ITTs, RFPs, organizing procurement meetings, and processing purchase orders and contracts.
• Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize operational transactions, service levels, and supply chain efficiency.
• Manage logistics suppliers, source and evaluate them globally, and ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met.
• Design and implement improvements to global logistics processes, promoting best practices.
• Respond to technical queries and support requests promptly, maintaining high client service standards.
• Compile and analyze logistics data to monitor trends, opportunities, and challenges.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
• Oversee bidding processes, ensuring transparency and effective negotiations.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, or related field.
• Procurement certification from KISM, CIPS, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar role.
• Experience in international procurement and managing multi-donor procurement projects.
• Strong procurement and supplier management skills.
• Excellent client service orientation and cooperative attitude.
• Knowledge of ERP software and management of product and supplier master files.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Advanced written and spoken communication skills in English and Swahili.
