Specializing in the design, development, and maintenance of XML Schemas (XSD) using leading XML authoring tools

Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced XML Schema Developer to design, build, and maintain XML Schema Definitions (XSD) that support enterprise data interchange and validation requirements. The role involves using industry-leading XML tools such as XMLSpy and Oxygen XML Editor to develop schemas that ensure data consistency, quality, and compliance with business rules.

You will work closely with data architects, developers, and integration teams to translate data requirements into robust XML schema models.

Key Responsibilities

XML Schema Development

• Design, develop, and maintain complex XML Schemas (XSD) to model enterprise data structures
• Use XML authoring tools such as Altova XMLSpy and Oxygen XML Editor to create and validate schemas
• Ensure schemas enforce business rules and data constraints through schema features like restrictions, patterns, and enumerations

Schema Validation & Testing

• Validate XML instances against schemas and troubleshoot validation errors
• Collaborate with QA and integration teams to ensure schema compliance across applications
• Update and version control schemas based on evolving business needs
• Work with data architects and business analysts to understand data requirements
• Document schema designs, guidelines, and usage best practices
• Provide training and support to development teams on XML schema standards and tools

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience developing XML Schemas (XSD)
• Proficiency with XML authoring and validation tools like Altova XMLSpy and Oxygen XML Editor
• Strong understanding of XML Schema constructs, data types, namespaces, and schema modularization
• Experience validating and troubleshooting XML instances against schemas
• Familiarity with version control systems and schema governance practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
• Knowledge of additional XML standards like RelaxNG and Schematron
• Experience in XML schema development within specific industries (e.g., finance, publishing, healthcare)
• Understanding of related XML processing technologies such as XSLT, XPath, and XQuery
