Job Description:

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Position Context:
At the heart of the Rolling Stock organization, you will join the "Train Control" team—a dynamic group dedicated to the functional specification of the train, software development, and validation of the Train Control and Monitoring System (TCMS). This includes both software and hardwired logic solutions, as well as interactions with subsystems. You will be part of the verification and validation team, working on TCMS testing and execution. The role involves working on a safety-focused R&D project with strict constraints.

Responsibilities:
As a VV&TE (Verification, Validation, and Test Engineer), your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in the definition of TCMS subsystem test plans in collaboration with the control command engineer.
  • Writing test plans in accordance with established processes.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of the test bench while adhering to technical constraints.
  • Performing unit and integration tests to validate the proper functioning of the subsystem.
  • Assisting in the drafting of test reports.
  • Analyzing and resolving issues encountered during implementation and testing.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (software, configuration, quality, control command design, etc.) to ensure alignment of needs and expectations.

Profile Sought:

  • Degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or Electronics Engineering.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage hardwired logic.
  • Familiarity with software architecture and development (programming languages such as C, C++, Python, VBA, Control Build, etc.).
  • Interest in embedded systems and the railway sector.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills, good interpersonal skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Fluent English is required.

What We Offer:

  • A rewarding experience within a leading company in the railway sector.
  • Mentorship from experienced professionals.
  • The opportunity to work on innovative projects and gain practical skills to strengthen your professional future.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
