Responsible Relations Sociales (H / F) / Social Relations Manager with an international context
This position will serve as the country liaison for all Workplace Practices (WP) matters in France. The incumbent will closely interact and align with Business Facing and other HR entities in France and be responsible for designing, driving, or coordinating Workplace Practice initiatives for France.
What you will do:
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following areas of Workplace Practices (WP):
Works Council Relations
- Coordinate Work Council (WC) / Union information and negotiations on international projects across France. Lead France-wide WC negotiations and information sharing. Maintain close exchange and alignment with BFHR in France in all WC interactions.
- Oversee all internal France information and negotiations, ensuring close coordination with Business Facing HR in France.
- Develop and enhance processes to improve cooperation with WCs.
- Advise the Business and local BFHR on WC relations, especially in difficult situations.
- Prepare input for the European Works Council (EWC) for French projects.
- Conduct WC education, training, and updates.
- Provide training on French co-determination rights and bargaining agreements for BFHR and Business teams.
- Assess and monitor union/WC risks and develop mitigation strategies collaboratively with BFHR and other stakeholders.
HR Compliance
- Support EMEA and global WP initiatives related to HR process compliance.
Restructurings / RIFs
- Support business teams and BFHR on large restructuring and RIF projects.
- Engage relevant stakeholders.
- Apply best practices, design standards, and checklists to streamline processes.
- Monitor and track the success and completion of restructurings/RIFs, and assess collateral impacts.
- Ensure HR compliance throughout.
What you need:
- Proven excellence in customer relations and building influential relationships.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive service orientation.
- Ability to lead programs, manage change, and deliver results in complex environments.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Capacity to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic regulatory and business environment.
- Experience handling confidential matters with discretion.
Minimum requirements:
- At least 5 years of professional experience.
- 3+ years of significant HR or employment law experience in the region.
- Fluent in English and negotiation-level proficiency in French.
- Extensive knowledge of French labor law.
- Experience working with unions and works councils.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Legal, or a related field from an accredited university.
Preferred qualifications:
- Project management experience.
- Global leadership experience or experience working in US multinational companies.
- Experience developing policies, training materials, and employment communications.
