An innovative research institute in France is looking for a research associate to drive forward new approaches in behavioral economics related to energy systems. This role involves conducting experiments and developing partnerships. Candidates should have a PhD in Economics and experience with experimental research. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of French is a plus.

  • PhD in Economics (already defended or expected end 2025).
  • Experience carrying out and analysing lab or online experiments.
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus.

Offer Description

Within the I-Tésé Institute, the "Energy Systems and Society" team investigates issues related to energy sufficiency, socio-technical challenges, the role of innovation processes, and their integration into society. This work is carried out within the framework of projects, with both institutional and academic partners. The institute now wishes to develop work involving behavioural/experimental economics.

We are seeking a research associate to help drive forward this new disciplinary approach within the Institute. Working with the head of the division and a researcher in energy economics, you will help narrow research topics, conduct a behavioral experiment (either in the lab or online), and develop academic partnerships.

The job position will be based at Saclay (20 km South of Paris).

Skills and expertise

  • PhD in Economics (already defended or expected end 2025).
  • Experience carrying out and analysing lab or online experiments.
  • Interested in the challenges of the energy transition.
  • Fluent in English (French is a plus but not required).
  • Publications in academic journals are a plus.
