Une société spécialisée dans le climat recherche un stagiaire pour modéliser les risques climatiques à travers différentes localités. Vous développerez des modèles scientifiques, gérerez de grandes bases de données et travaillerez sur des projets intéressants pour des clients du secteur public. Une expérience en Python et une formation en Data Science ou en Statistiques sont essentielles.

Qualifications

• Études en Data Science, Statistiques et Mathématiques Appliquées, ou Physique Appliquée.
• Expérience en codage et techniques de data science.
• Connaissances en météorologie, dynamique de l'atmosphère, et/ou analyse météo appréciées.

Responsabilités

• Développer des modèles de science des données et statistiques pour l'évaluation des hazards et vulnérabilités.
• Télécharger, explorer et tester d'autres sources de données météorologiques ou de vulnérabilité.
• Gérer de grands ensembles de données temporelles et géospatiales.

Overview

AXA Climate’s Public Sector team is looking for an intern who will support in modeling climate hazards over multiple geographical locations, processing time-series and geodata, designing hazard models for weather-related events, risk valuation and other technical analysis for public sector clients. These include the World Bank and other development banks, international institutions, NGOs and governments.

Responsibilities

Supported by the Public Sector Technical team, the intern will:

Contribute actively to scientific and technical developments:

• Develop data science and statistical models for hazard and vulnerability valuation.
• Download, explore and test other sources of meteorologic or vulnerability data: radar, satellite, new data providers, etc.
• Manage large time and geospatial datasets with coding optimisation and post-processing.
• Identify key issues surrounding high frequency weather events and low data availability.
• Develop risk models adapted to the targeted perils and populations.
• Explain technical concepts and share modeling.

Education

Grandes Écoles d’Ingénieurs and/or MSc

Background

• Studies in Data Science, Statistics and Applied Mathematics, or Applied Physics.
• Experience with coding and data science technics.
• Knowledges in meteorology, atmospheric dynamics, and/or weather analysis will be an advantage.

Language

French and English: fluency in one, conversational level in the other
