Overview

Darwin Recruitment are currently hiring on behalf of a company in Toulouse that was founded in 2017 and currently has a head count of 45+. The company develops state of the art antennas for the satellite constellation market and for launchers. They currently have 2 products: one for Navigations where you are building an electronic low noise filter platform to attach to their antennas and the other being an X-band active payload telemetry Antenna. This company is hiring for a Product Assurance / Quality Assurance Manager for Active Electronics and Quality Management System to ensure the quality of development and production processes, finished products, and services provided by the company. They are tasked with developing, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance plans as well as continuous improvement initiatives. They oversee the management of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with the EN 9100 standard.

Profile required

With an engineering degree in electronics, telecommunications, or quality, specializing in the space sector or RF antennas, you have at least 10 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the space or telecommunications industry. An analytical thinker, independent, and detail-oriented, you have strong technical English skills, essential for managing international projects.

An expert in space industry quality standards (ECSS, EN 9100) and quality analysis tools (8D, FMEA, SPC), you bring solid knowledge in active electronics, including amplifiers, RF control circuits, and semiconductor devices, along with expertise in antenna technologies for space applications. With extensive experience in product qualification for space environments (vibration, thermal shock, radiation), you are proficient in Quality Management Systems, including implementation, maintenance, and auditing.

In addition to your technical skills, you have proven project management and technical communication abilities, especially in multidisciplinary environments. A natural leader with a solutions-focused approach, you excel in team collaboration and driving results.

Missions
Product Assurance
  • Ensure compliance of active electronic products integrated into space antenna systems (RF amplifiers, control circuits, active components).
  • Lead product quality assurance activities, from antenna design phases to their qualification in a space environment.
  • Participate in the analysis of product non-conformities, lead technical investigations, define corrective and preventive actions.
  • Attend design, manufacturing, and qualification reviews to ensure adherence to technical and quality requirements specific to space antennas.
Product Quality
  • Develop and implement quality control plans for active electronic components and space antenna systems.
  • Oversee space environment qualification testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, radiation) and RF performance tests.
  • Set up performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor quality throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure traceability of critical components and production batches in accordance with space standards.
Quality Management System
  • Maintain and optimize the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with space industry standards.
  • Conduct quality audits (internal and external), manage discrepancies, and lead corrective actions.
  • Manage quality process documentation, including configuration and technical change control (in collaboration with the configuration and change management lead).
  • Train and raise team awareness on quality requirements and best risk management practices in the space sector.
Supplier Management
  • Qualify, evaluate, and audit suppliers of electronic components and subassemblies for space antennas.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and collaborate to resolve non-conformities and improve processes.
Customer Relations and Support
  • Support customer complaint management, communicate quality issues, and participate in project review meetings with clients (ESA, CNES, major space industry companies).
  • Prepare quality reports and present product assurance activity results to internal and external stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze feedback on antenna systems to identify weaknesses and propose improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and increase product reliability.
