About the Position
WorldFish seeks to recruit a Procurement Officer, who provide Procurement to the Egypt Country office, and ensure organization assets are properly safeguarded by ensuring an effective system of internal controls and donor compliance.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for executing procurement activities for the Egypt country office, ensuring the purchasing of goods and services is in accordance with WorldFish policies, donor regulations, and global procurement processes and methods.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement plans and strategies, ensuring compliance with established global procurement standards.
- Prepare RFQs, obtain quotations, evaluate offers, recommend suppliers, liaise with the procurement committee, issue purchase orders, initiate goods receipt, follow up on deliveries, manage inventory, and support contract preparation.
- Support supplier management activities, including registration, due diligence checks, soliciting and negotiating quotes, and maintaining effective communication with suppliers as part of the global procurement network.
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives by negotiating with suppliers and identifying alternative sources, sharing best practices and results with the global procurement team.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audit trail purposes in shared digital platforms, following global procurement record management guidelines.
- Participate in procurement process improvements, systems development, and implementation as part of the global procurement team’s continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues on procurement-related tasks, especially system-related activities, and collaborate with team members across locations to resolve procurement challenges.
- Perform other procurement-related tasks and ad-hoc assignments as required by management, supporting the global procurement objectives.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Finance, Procurement or relevant field.
- At least five (5) years’ experience as procurement.
- Working knowledge of procurement systems / software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work in a team-oriented multi-cultural environment, with strong personal values aligned with WorldFish's mission and values.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Previous experience working for international development and / or research organizations, NGOs or UN agencies is highly desirable.

This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position and WorldFish offers a competitive remuneration package including comprehensive benefits (but not limited to) insurance coverage for staff and eligible dependents, employer provident fund contribution, paid leave, and others. The duration of the contract will initially be for a three-year period with possibility for extension, depending on funding and performance.
