A leading university in France is offering a PhD opportunity in Neuroscience, focusing on RNA splicing's role in neurodevelopmental disorders. Candidates with a strong background in Neuroscience are encouraged to apply for the DIM C-BRAINS fellowship. The position is aimed at developing a competitive research proposal with a supportive environment. The PhD contract lasts for three years and includes a scientific bonus. All nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they hold a relevant Master's degree completed outside of France.
Position: Ph.D. Student
Deadline: 1 February 2026
Contract Length: three years
Country: France
Department: SABNP
Description:
Call for PhD Candidate to Work on RNA Splicing and Neurodevelopmental disorders – DIM-C-BRAINS Fellowship Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated Master student interested in applying for a DIM C-BRAINS PhD fellowship to join our laboratory SABNP at Université Évry Paris-Saclay, France.
Recent studies highlight that mutations impacting the RNA splicing machinery are recurrent in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDDs), including autism spectrum disorders (ASD), intellectual disabilities (ID), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and developmental language disorders (Jeong et al, Mol Cells, 2025, PMID:40472970). The successful candidate will work on the characterization of a network of splicing regulators recently identified in the lab and predicted to be associated with NDDs.
Research will take place at the SABNP laboratory in the Genopole campus (University of Evry, South suburb of Paris). Genopole is the France’s leading biocluster for biotechnologies and research in genomics and genetics. Based on a multidisciplinary approach, research at the SABNP laboratory aims at deciphering the mechanisms involved in the control of protein expression at the cellular and molecular levels and their dysregulations associated to neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases.
We welcome strong candidates and are committed to supporting the development of a competitive DIMM C-BRAINS application.
In addition to remuneration over three years, this competitive program offers a scientific bonus.
Eligibility rule: Open to candidates of all nationalities holding a Master’s degree (or BSc equivalent or Engineering school, e.g. Neuroscience) completed or in progress outside France.
