A leading research institution in Lille, France, is seeking a Junior or Senior Researcher to develop projects focused on chronic inflammatory diseases. Candidates are expected to propose innovative solutions and engage in translational research. Funding for two years and support for a permanent position will be provided. Applications are accepted until December 18th, 2025, and should be sent as a single PDF.
The Institute for Translational Research in Inflammation (INFINITE), a Center of Excellence in Biology and Biomedical Research dedicated to understanding and treating inflammatory diseases, is seeking an outstanding junior or senior principal investigator to develop an ambitious project within the framework of the CPER-ResIsT-omics program "Resistance, Complications, Vulnerability Factors and a Holistic Approach for Therapeutic Innovations in Inflammatory and Infectious Diseases".
Candidates should propose an applicative project addressing the identification of molecular, cellular, and pathophysiological mechanisms involved in complications and/or resistance of inflammatory diseases with a focus on digestive, liver and/or systemic autoimmune inflammatory diseases. The development of innovative tools (bioinformatics, omics, organotypic, drug discovery, etc.) and/or an original expertise in a biological mechanism to better characterize or target these mechanisms will be welcome. The research program must include an economic development axis (patent, business collaboration, clinical trials, start-up, etc.).
The selected candidate will join INFINITE (https://lille-inflammation-research.org/en/), an international research unit studying inflammation from its origins to its complications to develop new therapeutic solutions. INFINITE brings together 130 team members in open, cross-disciplinary groups. The institute's strong connection with the Lille University Hospital (CHU Lille) enables fundamental and translational research based on highly phenotyped patient databases and cohorts.
The successful candidate will receive appropriate laboratory space and access to state-of-the-art core facilities (histology, BSL-2, biochemical analysis, organotypic culture, chemical synthesis, etc.). Additional cutting‑edge facilities (omics platforms, flow cytometry, imaging, NGS, animal facility, etc.) are accessible through the local network of platforms (https://ums-plbs.univ-lille.fr/).
INFINITE is committed to gender balance, and applications from women are strongly encouraged. Junior candidates should be eligible for competitive start‑up programs such as ERC or ATIP-AVENIR. An initial attractive two‑year funding package will be provided. The successful candidate will be accompanied to apply for a permanent research position (Inserm, University of Lille).
Applications (in English) should include:
Names and contact information of three referees. Applications should be sent as a single PDF to david.launay@univ-lille.fr
Deadline for applications: December 18th, 2025 for a selection in 2026 and a start January 1st 2027
Short‑listed candidates will be invited for an on‑site visit and interview.
