Role context

The HSBC Continental Europe Risk Department is a key support function which manages major risks of the bank across all the wholesale activities. Within this department, the Credit Portfolio Management team is responsible for the following activities: end-to-end management of the IFRS9 credit risk process, production and analysis of credit risk reporting, which include notably the internal risk committees, the contribution to regulatory (ECB and PRA) reporting and requests such as loan data tape, the contribution as Subject Matter Experts to major Change the Bank (CTB) regulatory or internal initiatives that impact the team, such as Anacredit or the sale of the retail portfolio.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

The role holder will be involved in the IFRS9 credit risk process, with a focus on individual impairments (Stage 3 provisioning process). The role holder is responsible for carrying out the following tasks:

  • Support to SCU/WCR teams for the provisioning process (e.g. reporting, data providing)
  • Support to SCU team for the recovery process (e.g. write-off management)
  • Business ownership of the recovery and provisioning tool (LIGIS)
  • Tax related topics, interaction with Legal (e.g. Tax audit) and accounting departments (e.g. French GAAP)
  • IFRS9 sox controls monitoring
  • Prepare relevant risk reporting to meet both internal and external regulatory requirements
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of operational procedures
  • Contribute to all projects and requests related to individual impairments with third parties such as Finance, IT, modelling teams…
