Role: Lead Buyer Transport & Fleet
Our procurement team is evolving into a high-impact procurement organisation that develops as a strategic partner for the business. In this evolving context, we are recruiting a Lead Buyer Transport & Fleet who will help realise this transformation. You will report to the Cluster Manager Fleet & Transport and be responsible for the strategic procurement activities in this category.

Responsibilities
- Provide guidance, support and strategic advice to the organisation on Fleet & Transport procurement matters.
- Use market knowledge and Strategic Sourcing strategies when contracting suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with Public Procurement Legislation and internal procurement rules and procedures.
- Negotiate and conclude contracts using Strategic Sourcing techniques in accordance with Category Plans prepared by Category Managers.
- Manage procurement projects of varying sizes within the Fleet & Transport category in cooperation with a cross-functional team.
- Implement and manage the category strategy, create strategic plans and roadmaps, and perform stakeholder management.
- Perform strategic sourcing for subcategories with a focus on TCO optimisation and understanding internal customer needs.
- Implement, manage and optimise framework agreements and execute spot buys; maintain supplier relationships to realise TCO improvements.
- Coordinate with Cluster Manager to ensure purchases align with Public Procurement Act and internal processes.
- Advise internal customers in defining needs, budgeting and planning procurement projects; communicate proactively regarding all related information.
- Maintain supplier market intelligence, evaluate existing suppliers and identify new opportunities for bpost within the procurement domain.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in strategic public procurement or related role in a large company.
- Motivated to drive transformation in a dynamic environment; collaborative and goal-oriented mentality.
- Thorough knowledge of procurement and negotiation techniques: supplier sourcing, negotiations, selection, management and development.
- Expertise in Fleet & Transport and awareness of industry trends and best practices.
- Familiar with Strategic Sourcing: TCO mindset, opportunity identification, quantitative analysis, stakeholder management.
- In-depth knowledge of public procurement law.
- Knowledge of ERP and reporting techniques (Oracle, Business Objects).
- Thorough knowledge of English and Dutch or French.
