Business Development Director (M / F)

Medincell is a commercial-stage pharmaceutical company developing long-acting injectable drugs in many therapeutic areas. Products of our portfolio are based on our BEPO® technology and aim to ensure patient compliance, improve the effectiveness and accessibility of treatments and reduce their environmental footprint. We collaborate with tier one pharmaceuticals companies and foundations to improve Global Health through new therapeutic options.

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Director in our Business Development team. The position is primarily responsible for business development in technology evaluation collaborations, product and technology out-licensing and co-development partnerships where appropriate. Key responsibilities fall into two major roles (i) partnering activities and (ii) early alliance management activities.

Key responsibilities
Partnering activities include :
  • Support the BD managers in their search and evaluation and outreach
  • Organize discussions, ensuring participation of key decision makers and subject matter experts from MedinCell and the potential partner
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to provide the potential partner with the necessary information package
  • Present a summary of the potential project to MedinCell management in order to enable informed decision making
  • Drive and coordinate due diligence with key internal stakeholders
  • Structure, negotiate and execute feasibility agreements, licensing and co-development transactions in close collaboration with legal, IP and other teams
  • Ensure a seamless transition to alliance management for post-deal partnerships
  • Mentor the BD managers in partnering best practices
  • Represent MedinCell at key partnering, scientific and investor conferences, positioning the company as a partner of choice
  • Ensure a regular update of the BD dashboard (CRM) to maintain alignment across teams
Early alliance management activities include :
  • Ensure feasibility study contract compliance and the implementation of contractual provisions
  • Coordinate internal alignment between cross functional stakeholders (kick-off meetings, partner information requests, etc)
  • Manage the partner alliance at an early phase and grow the partner value (relationship management, knowledge management, business management)
  • Maintain regular communication and align with MedinCell management
Profile & Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in life sciences field, Business degree (MBA) a plus
  • 5 to 10 years of business development experience, including experience with evaluation activities such as market assessments and business case development
  • Strong track record in identifying new business opportunities and executing complex agreements from start through close
  • Proven ability to build and lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowedge of non-clinical, CMC, clinical and regulatroy development process
  • Energetic, results-driven self-motivated team player with ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Able to travel as needed for partnering meetings and conferences
  • Fluent English (spoken, written, comprehension) required
