The team is international and located in various plants: France (Andrézieux – Mehun – Paillart, Draveil), Deutschland (Mönchengladbach – Nurnberg), Italy (Pilotello), Denmark (Viborg), Poland (Szczecin), USA, China. The workplace is flexible but requires frequent travels within the plants. You will be reporting to the Industrial Director and the Vice President – Business Unit Energy.
Getting a flying start
To succeed, your skills will enable you to manage the complete Health, Safety & Environment regulatory compliance process for ISP Europe (BU Data, BU Energy), adapting the HSE policy to local specificities and regulations, ensuring the plants are in compliance with Nexans policies and practices regarding HSE issues and being a direct liaison with the Corporate Industrial team to deploy & follow new safety standards.
How you make an impact
- Manage the complete Health, Safety and Environmental regulatory compliance process for the BUs and the plants.
- Responsible for Safety compliance (REACH, European Machine Directive…)
- Animate a benchmark process based on the plants practices
- Manage Safety Committee; Conduct Safety Committee meetings
- Implement, monitor and challenge local implementation of safety standards & tools (safety walk, SUSA, JSA, Take 5, golden rules, Dupont)
- Maintain records (monthly safety statistics, etc.)
- Support the plants on their relations with regulatory agencies
- Analyze employee safety suggestions, coordinate with production supervisors to solve safety problems
- Develop, implement, and measure the effectiveness of standard operating procedures and policies regarding health, safety and environmental activities, ensuring they are kept current and effectively communicated to the appropriate individuals
- Establish, maintain, and communicate health, safety metrics as required by local and corporate management
- Develop an annual health, safety and environmental tactical plan geared towards meeting the established objectives
- Lead actions and activities identified in the health, safety and environmental tactical plan
- Develop and monitor the visitor/contractor/temporary employees safety policy to ensure adequate rules are established, effectively communicated, and complied with by all
- Perform routine facility safety audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability analysis to identify safety hazards and initiate corrective actions
- Provide and/or coordinate technical and soft-skills safety training programs and evaluate their effectiveness (Employee JSA, Ergonomics, SUSA, Hearing Conservation Program, Lead, etc.)
- Ensure all mandated and recommended inspections of safety and environmental factors (noise monitoring, air quality, fire system inspections, etc.) are performed as regulated or required
- Coordinate licensing programs designed to ensure safe operation and inspection of equipment or machinery (Forklifts, Cranes, Fall Protection, etc.)
- Coordinate Nexans Safety Day on-site events
- Responsible for the Carbon neutrality roadmap
- Promote, support and develop actions towards the reduction of CO2 emissions
- Setup and monitor HSE KPI’s
Your starting point when you join
- BA or BS from an accredited college
- 10-15 years of safety management experience in a large manufacturing environment, multi-sites, international context
- Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with other employees, vendors, and customers both verbally and in writing
- 30 Hour OSHA training certificate
- Experience with DUPONT DE NEMOURS’s method
- Training facilitator experience and knowledgeable of training software programs.
- Three to five years of wire and cable experience preferred with 6 Sigma and/or 5S experience
- English is required, every other language is a plus
- Require frequent travels within the plants (60%-80% working time)
