Our client, a well-established business based in Cannock, is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team on a permanent basis. Recognised as a leader in their field, the company is experiencing a period of growth and offers an excellent opportunity for professional development.

THE ROLE

This position is within a reputable accountancy practice in Cannock, where you will receive training and support to prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and audit-exempt limited companies within a diverse client portfolio. Your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing income and corporation tax computations.
• Undertaking bookkeeping duties and producing VAT returns.
• Preparing cash flow forecasts and financial projections.
• Engaging with clients face-to-face, providing expert support and advice.
To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of two years’ experience in a practice environment, possess strong accounting skills, and demonstrate proficiency in Sage as well as standard software applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. A sound understanding of income and corporation tax is essential.
We are looking for a proactive and dynamic individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional client service. You should be a strong communicator, confident in interacting with clients at all levels, both in person and in writing. You will also be encouraged to contribute to the growth and success of the firm.
For the right candidate, support will be provided towards professional development, including progression towards AAT, ACCA, or ACA qualifications.
