Our team, as part of the continued growth of our business, is looking to hire an inspirational Project Director & Design Manager to work closely with clients and deliver upstanding construction projects.

For a successful performance in the role, you will need a strong technical knowledge in MEP engineering and previous experience of delivering large projects from concept design all the way to construction stage.

Based in Madrid, this role offers a hybrid setup with 2–3 days a week in the office, depending on project and team requirements. We also offer flexible working hours to support your work-life balance.

Job Responsibilities

• To lead a team of MEP engineers, technical specialists to support the technical delivery of large building and infrastructure projects
• To actively participate in the development of the delivery team and ensure AECOM delivers the quality required to ensure a successful outcome for AECOM and our Clients.
• Be competent to deliver, review and approve engineering solutions
• Provide the key liaison required between client and the AECOM and maintains client relationships
• Ensure successful achievement of project mission statement and goals and be responsible for all day-to-day activities.
• To ensure a successful completion of the Project within the budget and on time.
• To schedule and plan all project activities in line with Master Program in co-ordination with the Planning Engineer. Planning and scheduling of resources
• To identify change and where required liaise / support the project Commercial Manager with supporting technical justification for the change.
• To grow Client and Architect relationships to support the continued growth of the business.
• To maintain and enhance expertise within the team and as an individual.

Qualifications

• Degree educated in electrical, mechanical or similar engineering discipline.
• Experience of seeing conceptual designs through to completion and dealing directly with clients.
• A highly motivated individual with excellent technical understanding of electrical engineering along with a solid understanding of the requirements of other disciplines collaborating on multi-disciplinary projects.
• A track record of successful collaboration with design teams nationally and internationally.
• Ability to speak English and Spanish fluently, communicating effectively in written reports and oral presentations.
• Management and marketing skills
• Construction experienced will be a plus
• Able to make decisions, act on their own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
